Manager, Food Safety Supplier and Technical Support

Job Description: 

In this role you will provide Food Safety and Quality leadership to the Food Team, Product Coach Team, R&D, and Risk/Crisis Team.

Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Review health inspection reports from all stores. Upon review, where needed, partners with Product Coach Team and tracks follow-up action plans for improvement and/or contacts Health Department. Follow up with Product Coach on corrective actions.
  • Provide support to leadership during new/alternate product developments and testing.  Work with new vendors for on-boarding by evaluating food safety practices through a 3rd party audit or internal on-site evaluations.
  • Maintain credential that is recognized by industry for conducting internal assessments of our supplier partners worldwide.
  • Manage vendor relationships for all technology areas that support Food Safety.
  • Collect, track and manage third-party vendor audits, animal welfare audits, and any other necessary documents from vendors; if corrective action needed, follow-up with vendor for action plans. Information is managed with third-party software to ensure we receive this information a minimum of once per year and vendor meets TRH standards.
  • Collect and track audit recall program information. Assist Risk/Culinary/Purchasing teams on food safety alerts/product recalls.  Initiate process for tracking products, with all stakeholders, through barcoding, RFID or other new technology systems.
  • Manage the nutritional information database for Texas Roadhouse and all other concepts. Through Purchasing, monitor any changes in ingredients or vendors that may impact the nutritional value in our food.
  • Manage ESF/Food Safety and Sanitation/Health Department information using third-party software. Manage working relationship with software representative to handle issues.
  • Work with Director of Product Quality on product quality feedback system; track trends on products/stores/vendors. Generate a tracking history in system. Follow up with any food safety issues, conducting a plant visit where needed.
  • May come in contact with company trade secrets, confidential information, and intangible assets.
  • Provide direction to the Food Safety and Quality Assurance Administrator on projects.

 

Requirements: 
  • Experience: Five years progressive experience in the restaurant or food safety industry.
  • Computer Skills:  Excel and Word.
  • Certification:  Holds and maintains credentials for assessment of Supplier Partners.

 

Education: 
  • Bachelor’s Degree (four-year college or university) in science or related field.
