Job Description: 
The QA Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing the overall quality and safety of our products by ensuring our products meet the high standards set by both our company and regulatory authorities. They would develop and review quality and safety policies for our products through managing raw materials, packaging materials, work in process and finished products. A secondary function would be to manage inventory control and ingredient lot identification and traceability.
Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Responsible for the quality control aspects of raw materials and finished products and preparing Standard Operating Procedures for testing the quality and safety of these materials.
  • Assist in setting quality standards and ensure that production is maintained at such standards.
  • Establish and complete tests required for food product packaging.
  • Keep records of all tests that have been carried out and prepare graphs, charts, and reports from test results as needed.
  • Review and report the principle causes of quality loss and non-conformance and provide corrective actions.
  • Arrange, coordinate and participate in internal and supplier (3rd party) audits.
  • Manage our inventory and ingredient traceability system.
  • Conduct biannual mock recall tests and be able to identify all ingredient lots involved in the product recall in a timely fashion (e.g., within 4 hours).
  • An Associates or BS degree in Food Science or related field is required or equivalent experience. 
  • 3-5 years work experience in a food production plant.
  • Good computer, analytical, and mathematical skills are a must.
  • Chocolate experience a plus but not necessary.  Candidate will be trained in chocolate handling on the job.
  • Must be able to follow State and Federal mandated Health Codes and ‘Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Must have a friendly and positive attitude and able to work as part of a team.
  • Must have strong leadership and organizational skills, good interpersonal communication skills and excellent memory and ability to follow instructions and work with minimal supervision. Must speak English.
