Responsibilities & Duties: 
Food Safety / HARPC-HACCP Hazard Analysis and Risk Based Preventive Controls – Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points)
  • Work in conjunction with QC and Production Management to develop food safety programs for all products.
  • Validate Food Safety / HARPC-HACCP programs annually, after changes are made, or as required.
  • Maintain documentation design, control, and management
  • Supervise Food Safety and Quality training as required or annually.
Regulatory Compliance
  • Stay abreast of changes to State, Federal, and Local regulations as pertains to the products. Advise management as needed.
  • Periodically inspect process equipment is functioning correctly according to regulations
  • Maintain annual calibration of Thermal monitoring equipment; MIG thermometers and Chart Recorders
  • Review process records and support QC department as needed.
  • Document and submit process deviations to Process Authority for evaluation as required.
Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) Compliance
  • Complete and submit Discharge Monitoring Reports (DMRs) monthly
  • Supervise and train for the collection of water samples for internal and external lab analysis for DMR.
  • Maintain NPDES permit when due, every 4 years
  • Complete and submit annual fresh water usage report.
Kosher Certification
  • Maintain kosher program; complete and submit forms for new products, ingredients, and private label customers.
  • Monitor that operations, scheduling, products, labels, and ingredients are in compliance.
Organic Certification
  • Complete and submit annual renewal forms
  • Supervise annual updates of organic ingredient certificates
  • Accompany inspector during annual organic inspection
  • Provide inspector with production records, ingredient documentation, receiving records, production ingredient reconciliation, and other documents as required.
Audits and Inspections
  • Accompany auditors & inspectors during 2nd and 3dr party audits and regulatory inspections of facility.
  • Prepare documentation for review by 2nd and 3rd party or FDA and State auditors
  • Supply follow up reports to management and maintain records of inspections and audits
  • Complete and submit corrective actions as required.
1st Party Audits (Self Inspection)
  • Responsible for Internal Audits of all Preventive Control and Food Safety Programs. Including HARPC/HACCP program, SQF Program, Supplier Approval, Allergen Control, Pest Control, Chemical Control, Employee Practices & GMPs, Glass & Brittle Item audits, Shipping & Receiving Procedures, Water Quality and Backflow prevention, Recall program (Mock Recalls), Trace Back audits, etc.
  • Document findings and report deficiencies to department managers for corrective actions.
Coordinate Research & Development
  • Formula Development  & Control, track formulations and changes
  • Product specification and nutrition analysis development and management
  • Label regulatory compliance, development, review, and control
Consumer Complaint management
  • Record and respond to consumer complaints
  • Design and implement corrective actions as needed
  • Analyze complaint data and submit to management
Customer Internal Support
  • Supply product  and company information per customer requests – complete forms from customers
  • Supply Documentation of policy statements including; GMO, BPA, Organic, Kosher, etc.
  • Maintain Customer software data management
  • Send product samples as needed
Manufacturing Module ERP System Coordinator
  • Set up and maintain formulations and Bill of Materials (BOM) in Manufacturing module
  • Set up items as needed in Distribution module
  • Troubleshoot problems with executing finished goods
Qualifications: 
  • Good analytical and communication (both oral and written) skills.
  • Must have or complete certification status as Certified Food Safety Manager or equivalent.
  • Understanding of management principles and team concepts.
  • General knowledge of plant functions – production, maintenance; warehouse; shipping, sanitation, and GFSI concepts.
  • HACCP Certified with very strong HACCP and regulatory skills.
  • Must be a team player and understand how to develop in-depth programs, which are operationally functional while providing protection to the organization and consumers.
