Job Description: 

Stewart's Shops is looking for a Quality Assurance Director at the Manufacturing & Distribution center in Saratoga Springs.

Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Assure quality products and processes by establishing and maintaining standards as well as appropriate testing of finished products.
  • Assure facilities comply with all food safety policies and procedures in addition to all FDA, USDA, and state requirements.
  • Investigate and address all customer complaints in a timely manner.
  • Oversee plant food quality and food safety plans to ensure they are current, relevant and are being followed.
  • Inspect and review suppliers to ensure the quality of ingredients used in our products.
  • Ensure that good manufacturing practices, facility hygiene and housekeeping are maintained.
  • Prepare training plans to ensure that all employees have an understanding of current and new procedures, policies and work instructions.
  • Knowledge of and ability to work with all regulatory agencies.
  • Ensure pest control programs are current and compliant.
Requirements: 
  • 10+ years of hands on food manufacturing experience.
  • Sanitation and laboratory experience.
  • Highly organized with ability to maintain procedures related to regulatory requirements.
  • Strong communication skills with the capability to teach all levels of personnel within the plant.
  • Self-motivated and driven to ensure that strong quality programs are implemented and executed within the plant.

Education: 
  • Bachelor of Science in Food Science or Biology or a related field with a background in Microbiology, Chemistry or Mathematics.
