Job Description: 

Position responsibilities include:

  •     Supervises and coordinates activities of Sanitation Supervisors and Team Members in all duties and tasks associated with the proper sanitation of a poultry processing facility
  •     Directs, Manages and Verifies the cleaning of all plant equipment and work areas
  •     Inspects the work areas for unsafe and insanitary practices and conditions
  •     Confers with management, production and maintenance on sanitation concerns.  Recommends changes in equipment design, layout, lighting, ventilation or work practices to improve sanitation standards
  •     Compiles required reports regarding preoperational inspections, sanitation failures and steps taken to remedy deficiencies
  •     Must be willing to apply company policy consistently and interpret and train HAZCOM and Lockout/Tagout
  •     Establishes good work procedures to meet production schedules
  •     Analyzes and evaluates work issues and assists supervisors and team members in overcoming these issues
  •     Initiates and manages plans to promote worker morale, enthusiasm and motivation
  •     Oversees, manages and performs tasks associated with worker time and production records
  •     Arrange and oversee the training of all new workers.  Maintain a schedule of required training for all workers
  •     Develop and maintain a positive relationship with USDA inspection personnel assigned to perform preoperational sanitation inspection.  Maintain a working knowledge of all applicable USDA regulatory standards
  •     Manages the sanitation department in the absence of the sanitation manager and demonstrate the ability to perform all related functions relevant to the job

Qualifications:

  •     8-10 years of relevant and specific experience and/or training in an equivalent position; or equivalent combination of education and experience in poultry or industrial sanitation procedures. B.S. or B.A. degree in Business Management or equivalent work experience preferred
  •     Must have knowledge of proper and applicable chemical usage and handling for food processing sanitation. Must be able to perform inventory and categorization of chemicals and comply with appropriate safety regulations
  •     Must be HACCP Certified or be eligible to become HACCP certified
  •     Leadership skills with the ability to build teams, evaluate workers fairly and objectively
  •     Familiar with Microsoft based programs, Alchemy and KRONOS
  •     Ability to read/write English. Bilingual Preferred
