COMMENTS:  This job description reflects assignment of essential functions.  It does not prescribe or restrict the tasks that may be assigned.


This position has responsibilities for supporting Quality activities in the plant.  Assist the Quality Manager with maintaining annual budget.  Review and calibrate test procedures.


  • Support QC technicians and microbiologist
  • Identify quality systems problems and provide resolution. 
  • Evaluate systems, products, technology, analyze data; and develop quality procedures.
  • Assist in all applicable safety, environmental and quality training to onsite employees.
  • Ensure compliance with State and Federal regulatory agencies as it relates to Quality and Product Safety.
  • Assist with FSMA, HACCP audits.
  • Evaluate systems/products/technology, analyzes data, and develops established quality procedures.


  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferred


  • 2 – 3 year experience supervising a team of (6) or more within a manufacturing environment.
  • 10 years analytical and microbiological Lab experience, required
  • Minimum 5 years in food processing industry, required.
  • Minimum 5 years of Acetation and Fermentation experience, preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of HACCP experience, preferred
  • Excellent oral and written communications, as well as effective interpersonal skills required.
  • Experience working with MS Office and spreadsheet software.
  • Must be able to work and function in a team environment.
  • Experience with Microsoft AX and/or SAP, preferred.
  • Ability to work with all levels within in the organization.
  • Ability to be organized and results drive.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing business needs and deadlines on short notice.
  • Good work attitude, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Continuous mental and visual attention is required to perform duties, involving repetitive or diversified work requiring constant alertness or activity, required.
  • Continuous standing, walking and reaching.
  • Ability to work in extreme temperatures, working at heights and exposure to dust, gases, fumes and chemicals.
  • Intermittent crouching/stooping, pushing/pulling, bending and lifting/lowering.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance, or up to 100 pounds with assistance.
  • Intermittent crouching/stooping, pushing/pulling, bending and lifting/lowering.
  • Must be able to work Long-term, temporary assignments to any shift may be required to maintain manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to work in a continuously hot environment.
  • Duties are performed with exposure to noise.
