Quality Assurance Technician
Description: According to established HACCP policies and procedures, tests and inspects products at various stages of the production process from raw material acceptance to finished product. Compiles and evaluates data to determine and maintain quality and consistency of products. Maintains all food safety documentation in the company archives.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
Manufacturing environment with Good Manufacturing Practices requirements.
Floors in processing can be wet and floors throughout the plant can be slippery. Floor drains/grates are located throughout the plant.
Ear plugs may be required.
Plant is not air conditioned but fans and ventilation are provided.
Mobility throughout entire plant including catwalks is required.

Duties: ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Assures quality of product by performing established quality tests on materials throughout the manufacturing process.
Assures finished package quality meets or exceeds documented specifications.
Assures incoming raw materials meet or exceeds documented specifications.
Records and communicates test data and any results that are non-conforming, to appropriate personnel. This includes preparing reports, charts, and/or entering data into a computer for analysis.
Evaluates data and writes reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards as well as providing recommendations on such deviations.
Makes recommendations to achieve optimum quality throughout facility.
During all food safety audits, this person will act as the data collection point for all departments.
Will be tasked with document collection and copying of documents during any mock recalls or true product recalls.
Handles all customer product complaints.
Qualifications: KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
At least 5 years related work experience in a food manufacturing facility
General knowledge of laboratory procedures.
Ability to communicate well both verbally and written at all levels in the manufacturing
HACCP/SQF background a plus.
