Description        
 
Lawson's Finest Liquids mission statement reads in part, 'to provide beers of the highest quality and freshness.' We are seeking the right people to assist us in keeping that a reality. This position reports to and works directly with the Director of Brewing Operations and will maintain the quality control laboratory in order to ensure delivery of the best products and customer experiences possible.
 
The ideal candidate:
  •     Has an established career and passion for the brewing industry with 5+ years of experience in a quality assurance lab in the food and beverage industry
  •     Is experienced with ASBC methods of analysis and accompany equipment
  •     Knows aseptic techniques for microbiology and has microbe identification skills
  •     Is well organized, detail oriented, has strong analytical skills and can manage complex tasks
  •     Is driven to maintain a brewery to the highest sanitation and safety standards
  •     Has excellent communication skills, is honest and hard working
  •     Is extremely organized, detail oriented, and has strong follow through with tasks
  •     Displays solid time management and discerning prioritization skills
Position Requirements
 
Primary Responsibilities:
  •     Manage daily operations of the quality assurance lab
  •     Ensure all beers are within the set quality control parameters and help resolve any issues
  •     Collect micro samples and plate on appropriate media
  •     Collect raw materials, wort and beer samples to ensure they meet set specifications
  •     Ensure pressure gauges, scales and temperature probes around the brewery are calibrated and tracked
  •     Inform Director of Brewing Operations of issues and the resolutions
  •     Communicate critical information with appropriate departments
  •     Train brewery personnel in applicable skills
  •     Follow all company policies as detailed in the employee handbook-attendance, safety, IT protocols, etc
  •     Assist other departments or perform other tasks as needed
Requirements & Expectations:
  •     B.S. in food science, biology, microbiology, chemistry or related discipline
  •     5+ years of experience as a quality assurance technician in the food or beverage industry
  •     Strong computer skills
  •     You must thrive working independently and have a positive personality
Compensation
  •     We offer a generous total compensation package for the right individual. Starting salary is commensurate with experience and benefits include paid time-off, paid holidays, company medical, dental, and 401k plan with company match.
