In the role of Food Safety Manager, it’s more than just a job title. It’s the heart of what we do. You will manage Food Safety and collaborate with Sanitation to ensure the development, compliance and certification of food safety programs. We drive for results by ensuring the delivery of required standards of food safety, according to Kellogg policies, procedures, and practices. As a part of the Quality & Food Safety Team, you will be directly involved with the manufacturing teams, plant leadership and plant employees. With your owner’s mindset, we will be able to work together to ensure the best actions with the best results.

HERE’S A TASTE OF WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

    Plant Food Safety Ownership – Safety is at the heart of what we do. You will have a firm focus on delivering the required standards of food safety according to Kellogg processes and regulatory procedures and practices. You will be the expert in ensuring the adherence to required food safety laws and regulations, as well as 24/7 accountability for your team and the food safety operation.

    Program Management – You have the influence to manage the food safety vision that will define our results. You will be leading the development and compliance of HACCP and food safety programs for the facility. You will be responsible for microbial, sanitation, and allergen compliance. You will also be responsible for the facility’s CAPA process.

    Audits and Inspections – We like accuracy, agility, and accountability. We bet you do too. You will be delivering results by managing facility inspections, traceability, testing, and vendor auditing. You will ensure metrics are established and that Key Performance Indicators are met. You will manage SQF and all food safety audits.

    Standard Work and KWS Processes – We grow and improve together every day. You will be involved with senior leadership meetings to ensure adherence to standard work processes and by following the Kellogg Work Systems (KWS) methodologies. You will deliver on continuous improvement efforts and work with Corporate Quality in the execution of these projects.

YOUR RECIPE FOR SUCCESS

Required:

    Bachelor’s Degree

    Substantial experience in food safety

    HACCP certification

    GFSI audit experience

    Knowledge of FSMA compliance

    Technical knowledge of quality & food safety

    Strong written & verbal communication skills

    Proven ability to work well independently and as a member of a team

    Computer software skills, including Microsoft Office Suite

Bonus Points:

    Bachelor’s Degree in food science, microbiology, or other relevant degree

    Experience in a Union environment

    Demonstrated experience with sanitation

    PCQI certification

    Experience in food processing and packaging

    Hands-on microbiology laboratory experience

    SAP software experience

    SQF certification
