Full-time position/40 hours per week

Monday – Friday, 8 am – 5 pm

Summary

Develop, implement and manage quality control systems designed to account for monitoring and verifying that the company is following and documenting records required for Food Safety, Food Defense, HACCP, FSMA, CDPH, USDA, FDA, Prop 65 and any other governing entities regarding food safety.

Duties and Responsibilities

Review, implement, revise and maintain local, state and federal regulations of all food safety standards. Review current food safety training in place for all operational employees, including training and record keeping in accordance with required standards. Act as a Recall trainer and conduct annual refresher training to current and new employees, make changes if needed to current recall practices. Works with purchasing, marketing, delivery, and warehouse department to educate employees and customers about food safety practices. Perform other related duties as required and assigned.

Education/Experience

Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) of Science degree in food science preferred. HACCP certification. Three years warehouse/distribution experience with preferably one year experience in foodservice quality control or equivalent combination of education and experience at food manufacturing facility related to food safety and quality control.

Skills

Must be proficient in Word, Excel, and Office applications. Excellent organizational skills, oral and written communication and follow up. Good presentation skills and ability to communicate clearly and effectively before groups.
