Brief Description

Position Summary

Responsible for coordinating all aspects of the company’s Quality Assurance Program, including development and administration of said program, training and coaching employees, while facilitating change throughout the organization. This position will be responsible for establishing policies and procedures at all levels to ensure that the Quality Assurance Program meets or exceeds internal and external customer’s needs and expectations. This includes leading quality and food safety programs to ensure the highest standards are met in accordance to company policies and procedures, customer specifications and industry regulations.

Quality Assurance Manager Duties and Responsibilities

Responsible for the daily operation of the quality department to ensure flow of product to clients

Maintain/update all quality records, including QMS documents, final inspections and QOS

Guarantee the quality of key inputs from our key vendors/providers

Implement, maintain and improve a system to operate at a high food safety level

Establish and maintain the right sampling methods for the production, packaging, and shipping processes

Define and maintain the biosecurity processes

Define and maintain a sanitation program

Performs internal quality audits and assist with external audits of suppliers

Maintain the company’s quality program towardAS9100 Standard through proper documentation, training and implementation

Coordinates detailed quality planning with other staff and department managers

Ensures products meet company, customer and regulatory requirements for quality and food safety

Work with production employees to ensure plant compliance

Perform monthly sanitation and quality self-assessment inspections

Work with Quality Assurance employees to resolve any non-compliance issues

Performs hazard analysis and critical control point studies

Investigate causes of quality problems and proposing solutions

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, chemical engineering, science or related degree is preferred

Five (5) or more years of related experience, with ASW training certificates preferred

Knowledge and understanding of Quality Management Systems

Understanding of trades, disciplines, associated special processes, inspection, testing techniques, construction industry codes, standards and jurisdictional requirements related to the industry

HACCP, SQF or other GFSI certification preferred
