Job Description: 
For over 87 years, Gold Medal has been a leader in the concession industry for both equipment and supplies including popcorn, cotton candy, Sno-Kones and much more. Due to our continued growth, we are searching for a PCQI/Quality Specialist to join our growing team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  •     Ensures all products are packaged in a safe, quality manner.
  •     Performs daily finished product quality inspections.
  •     Ensures adherence of required quality and food safety laws, regulations, and company policies, procedures and practices.
  •     Ensures compliance to and audits HACCP plans.
  •     Performs GMP audits and ensures compliance with applicable regulations and company policies.
  •     Performs internal food safety and quality audits.
  •     Supports third part audits.
  •     Implements, maintains, and improves Food Safety and Food Quality programs.
  •     Develops FSMA Preventive Controls procedures and work instructions.
  •     Provides training to plant operations personnel on quality and preventive control programs to promote the safe and cost-effective production of safe and quality product.
  •     Verifies and validates FSMA Preventive Controls programs and procedures.
  •     Evaluates food safety concerns in the facility and implements programs to eliminate hazards.
  •     Function as an information source for other departments when critical quality issues arise.
  •     Prepares plant evaluation reports.
  •     Assists in the development of special department projects.
  •     Communicates to relevant employees all information essential to ensure effective implementation and maintenance of Preventive Controls.
  •     Offers technical assistance in developing and implementing the training needs of employees performing functions affecting product legality, safety and quality.
  •     Ensures that the developed food safety plan as well as its fundamentals are implemented and maintained.
  •     Maintains a continuous improvement management system with scheduled reviews in accordance with the requirements of FSMA.
  •     Ensures that FSMA records are maintained.
  •     Supports supplier continuous improvement and their evaluation.
  •     Assists in documenting the food safety policy and procedures.
  •     All other duties as assigned.
  •     High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required. Strongly prefer Bachelor’s Degree in related field.
  •     Minimum three years of Food Safety and/or Quality Control experience in a food manufacturing environment.
  •     Must have HACCP and PCQI certifications.
  •     SQF Practitioner certification preferred.
  •     Must have the ability to identify and assess potential food safety hazards and quality defects.
  •     Ability to effectively train essential plant employees in HACCP principles and Food Safety Plans.
  •     Ability to drive continuous improvement.
  •     Ability to affect change through indirect leadership.
  •     Excellent written and verbal skills.
  •     Proficient with Microsoft Office software
  •     Ability to write SOPs and work instructions.
  •     Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  •     Strong decision-making skills.
  •     Ability work outside of normal business hours occasionally as needed to meet business needs.
  •     Ability to communicate with all levels of staff within the facility.
