Responsibilities & Duties: 

Reporting to the plant manager, the role of the Quality control technician is to:

  • Conduct quality control of raw materials and ensure that results meet specified requirements
  • Conduct quality control of manufactured products and ensure that results meet specified requirements
  • Maintain and update a reference sample bank
  • Prepare quality documents such as labels and certificates of analysis
  • Participate in the oversight of existing quality assurance programs (HACCP and SQF)
  • Prepare quality documents such as labels and certificates of analysis
  • Participate in the implementation of standards by following established procedures at all times but also by playing a role of coach with other employees
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects
Requirements: 
  • Bachelor’s degree in food science, chemistry or other related field or equivalent experience
  • 2 to 4 years of pertinent experience in the aromatic industry or in the food industry 
  • Ability to identify basic tastes
  • Knowledge of good manufacturing practices in the food industry
  • Knowledge of HACCP and SQF standards
