Processing Division - St. Henry Ohio

OBJECTIVES/SUMMARY OF POSITION: The primary goal of this position is the quality assurance testing and inspection of products at various stages of the production process.

SKILLS REQUIRED: Position requires organization skills, testing and evaluation skills, math skills,  statistical knowledge, written and verbal communication skills, and good human relation skills.

TRAINING NEEDED ANNUALLY: Thermometer Training, HACCP, SSOP, GMP, Food Security, Animal Welfare, Allergen, Scale, Metal Detector, and evis trim defect training.


    Will perform pre-op inspection according to USDA guidelines (Pre-Op QS Tech only).

    Select products for quality assurance testing and inspection at various times and intervals on the production line (Deboning and Value Added QS Techs only).

    Take control of situations that may affect product quality, attitude, cooperate and communicate well with others, and accurate test, evaluate, and record product quality standards.

    Monitor and verification of NTIS (Evis QS Tech only), SSOP, GMP and HACCP performance.

    Perform related duties as assigned by the QS Manager or QS Supervisor.

    Maintain a good attendance record and report to work on time.

    Calculate, compute, and record results on tested products.

    Maintain a good attitude toward managers and other team members.

    Monitor plant facilities to insure that they meet USDA and company standards.

    Perform standardized tests to determine quality or quantity of products to insure compliance of company quality

    Maintain an active interest in performance level.

    Evaluate tested data and compare quality test results with set standards and records.

    Maintain a good attitude toward all fellow team members.

    Maintain an active interest in improving performance level.

    Actively maintains high personal sanitary measures by following the established guidelines.

    Maintain a good attendance record and report to work on time.

    Perform related duties as apparent or assigned.

    Demonstrates an active interest and positive safety attitude.

    Demonstrates an active interest in producing quality products/services.

    Maintain a good working relationship with USDA.
