Document Control Specialist
Reports to: QA Manager
Part time -30 hours weekly; schedule to be determined
Full time will be considered with the addition of support tasks
Hybrid – onsite Cheshire, CT /remote available to candidates outside of CT
Position Summary
Manage and maintain supplier certifications and approvals and work alongside QA Manager as a PCQI Certified Document Control Specialist to develop and maintain a compliant Food Safety Plan. PCQI certification can be obtained after hire.
Major Responsibilities

Work alongside QA Manager to develop and maintain Food Safety Plan for its Distribution Center, including the Recall Plan.

Assist QA Manager during 3rd party audits and lead Corrective Actions, management review meetings and updates to the Food Safety Plan following 3rd party audits.

Develop and maintain Supplier Approval alongside management and collect all necessary documents to approve new suppliers.

Monitor external recalls and immediately notify company of any produce-related recalls.

Complete PCQI training and stay updated on all produce-related FDA and USDA regulations through any means including the FDA and USDA websites, email alerts, produce newsletters, webinars, etc.

Manage and maintain supplier documentation on 3iVerify platform including: requesting and approving certificates and audits, issuing and approving supplier approval questionnaires, and ensuring documentation is current and updated upon expiration.

Fulfill customers' requests for food safety certificates and audits, questionnaires, and any other quality assurance document.

Establish and maintain effective contacts and channels of communication with auditing body, customers, suppliers, FDA and USDA (when required), and other food safety professionals.

Stay engaged with produce and transportation food safety best practices and regulatory requirements as they evolve with emerging food safety research to ensure the integrity of Food Safety program.
