About the position / Who are we looking for
General Summary
This position works under general supervision and is primarily responsible and accountable for up-to-date quality systems enabling the site to operate effectively and efficiently in compliance with global and local guidelines, regulations, laws and requirements. 
 
 
Principal Duties And Responsibilities
  1. Approves HACCP analysis of the production process and food/feed safety plans (in line with minimum requirements given in global/cross-site production HACCP analysis) and acts as Preventive Controls Qualified Individual for the facility.
  2. Approves change control forms impacting product quality, HACCP analysis, cleaning efficiency.
  3. Approves new products and site shifts if they include new or changed raw materials, production processes, impact existing production, etc.
  4. Develops and maintains framework for environmental monitoring program and approves summary reports.
  5. Implements and maintains local HACCP and GMP procedures, pest control system etc. and conducts verification activities.
  6. Implements and maintains framework for managing corrective and preventive actions.
  7. Defines and implements requirements for raw material handling, segregation, labelling and receiving inspection.
  8. Approves allergen cleaning validation and verification results.
  9. Performs training in quality, HACCP, GMP, corrective and preventive actions system.
  10. Approves URS’s for new equipment, approves qualification program and results and releases for production.
  11. Evaluates, audits and approves toll manufacturers and service providers.
  12. Performs audits of local raw material manufacturers (distributors/external warehouses, transporters) according to global audit plan.
  13. Responsible for external certification audits and customer audits of the area in relation to quality, food safety, Kosher and Halal, handling of findings from audits etc.
  14. Provides input to global audit plan on needed local audits, ensure auditor competencies.
  15. Conducts internal audits according to global audit plan.
  16. Authorization (feed, food, pharma, kosher/halal) of the production facilities.
  17. Supports customer complaint handling, challenge (and approve) root cause analysis and preventive actions.
  18. Identifies preventive actions and improvement opportunities based on incidents, complaints, audits, corrective actions trends etc.
  19. Reports on local and global KPIs to Site management and Product Quality Manager.
  20. Plans, reports and conducts management review.
  21. Backup for other local QA manager and keep updated, to be able to take over during holidays etc.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  1. Ability to read, write and speak English
  2. Ability to work effectively in a cross functional team environment
  3. Possess strong interpersonal and presentation skills with training experience
  4. Understands product application and business and production processes
  5. Knowledge and experience within Food safety management and HACCP analysis
  6. Knowledge and experience with feed/food safety standards FSSC 22000, FAMI QS
  7. Possess a systematic, customer and results oriented work ethic
  8. These characteristics are normally acquired through a Bachelor degree in food science, chemical engineering, microbiology and five to seven years related experience and/or training, preferably in a manufacturing environment with leadership experience
Working Conditions
Working environment is generally favorable and in an office setting.  Lighting, temperature and noise levels are adequate.  Occasional entry into the production facility requires personal protective equipment to be worn at all times.  This includes a lab coat, hair/beard net, safety glasses, and gloves.  
 
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to talk, hear, use hands to finger, handle or touch objects, keyboard and occasionally lift up to 10 lbs.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
