We have an amazing opportunity for a Food Safety Manager to join our team.
This position is responsible for the implementation, management, and maintenance of the California Giant Food Safety program. The program provides comprehensive coverage for regulatory compliance of GAPs, GMPs, risk assessments, sanitation, training, etc. Administration of the program includes providing support to our Grower partners and affiliated cooling facilities to ensure complete compliance with all current regulatory requirements. The position is responsible for the standardization of California Giant Food Safety programs in geographic areas where all four types of California Giant berries are produced. The position is also responsible for the scheduling and execution of third-party audits, and the management and maintenance of all Food Safety documents for the company and our growing operations.
To be considered for this position, you must have:
- Four-year degree in agriculture, food science or related field
- Five+ years experience in agriculture or produce industry, with emphasis on food safety, sanitation, and regulatory compliance
- Knowledge of federal and state Food Safety regulations, FSMA, GAPs, GMPs, and major customer requirements
- Previous auditing and training experience
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong technical aptitude
