JOB FILLED - Quality Assurance Manager

Job Description: 
Position Summary: The Quality Manager has responsibility for overseeing the Quality function at Bobo’s.  This persons is responsible to drive the development, implementation and sustainability of quality programs for the company.  In this role, the position holder will serve as the manager for shift quality technicians and will serve as the “voice of quality” for the organization – driving thought leadership and systematic resolutions to issues through program development and deployment.  Engaging with leaders from all functions will be a key driver to success.
 
Duties & Responsibilities
    Provide thought leadership for Bobo’s Quality Team and the interaction with Operations and other functions
    Manage and Implement systems to maintain quality, safety and consistency
    Formula maintenance and change documentation
    Product specific quality specifications
    In-process manufacturing specifications
    Ensure personnel follow GMPs & good hygiene practices
    Review manufacturing processes on a monthly basis and meet efficiency targets
    Help resolve issues and provide a high level of customer satisfaction
    Production reports and HACCP documentation
    Train employees on safety, GMPs, SSOPs, and HACCP
    Maintain company certifications
 
Marginal Duties Performed Less Frequently:
    Ensure products are manufactured in compliance with all applicable regulations
    Quality control throughout manufacturing process
    Maintain all HACCP and SSOP daily records
    Inspect and release all products
    Responsible for documentation and quality audits
 
Supervisory Responsibilities
 
This position will have direct supervision responsibilities for up to 4 Quality Assurance Technicians
 
Education/Experience:
    Four-year Degree in Food Science or a related field is preferred
    Minimum 3 years prior experience in a food manufacturing environment
    Knowledge of natural products industry a plus
    Combined experience in quality and management preferred
    Must be familiar with a production environment under FDA and HACCP guidelines
    Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications
 
Language/Mathematical/Reasoning Ability:
    Must be able to accurately document lot numbers and quantities
    Must be able to write and speak, both clearly and effectively.
    Must be comfortable working with numbers
    Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
    Strong math skills required.

Travel:
    Very Limited – May be asked to go off-site (locally) for equipment training, safety/food safety training and other short duration items.  No overnight travel expected but may be required in rare circumstances.
